The iHub the pioneer tech hub in Kenya and home of Ushahidi and BRCK has announced appointment of Mary Gicharu as the new Managing Director effective May 8, 2017.
Ms. Gicharu will continue with the implementation of the strategy and operating model of iHub 2.0. She brings over fifteen years of experience and demonstrated performance from globally respected firms within the U.S. and recently at a Pan-African Bank within Kenya.
She is formerly worked for Morgan Stanley (New York City) within the Corporate Post Trade Technology, COO Office and honed skills in implementation and integration management of business units from her past tenureships including Coca-Cola Enterprises, Inc. (Atlanta) Strategy Planning & Portfolio Management Unit.
In 2013, Mary relocated back to Kenya to lead and manage the implementation of Equitel, a secure converged banking and mobile services channel and the largest MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) in Africa.

Kamal remains close to the iHub and tech community as he takes on a full-time role as the Chief Innovation Officer at Safaricom Limited. He will continue to be engaged with the iHub in an advisory role supporting the team and the investors as the Chairman of the Board of the iHub.

- Josiah Mugambi is the Director of Strategy and Products. He leads strategy and product lines for our Entrepreneur and Innovation Journeys. Both of these Journeys are geared towards providing a support system for entrepreneurs on their journey, and engagement with the public and private sector as they build new products and improve existing products while creating job opportunities for our contractor members. - Njoki Gichinga is the Director of Partnerships and Sales. In this role, she drives collaborations that will lead to iHub becoming the best African support system for the tech community, as well as a platform for developing amazing enterprises in Africa. Her role also seeks cooperation with private and public sector actors to engage with iHub’s product lines.
